Biographical Notes:

Throughout his 40+ year career, Mr. Stanley has represented various parties in arbitration of construction and commercial disputes. During the last 30 years he has participated as counsel to parties in numerous mediations of disputes arising from commercial contracts and construction and procurement contracts as well as disputes under health and life insurance contracts.


For the past 17 years, he has spent a large portion of his professional time serving as an arbitrator or mediator of disputes under construction, commercial, procurement and insurance contracts. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Arbitrators, a member of its Panel of Mediators and has served as chair of arbitration panels and as a single arbitrator on numerous arbitrations of construction project disputes, including private arbitrations and mediations. He has been certified as a Mediator by the International Mediation Institute.

Mr. Stanley has completed the basic and advanced mediator training courses at the Center for Dispute Settlement in Washington, D.C. and has served as a construction project mediator on large and small construction projects. He has been designated as a Mediator by the Circuit Courts for Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County and has served as mediator in numerous cases for those courts. He has also served as a volunteer attorney mediator for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City since November 1997. Mr. Stanley has also been certified as a mediator by the ADR Oversight Committee of the Business & Technology Case Management Program in the Circuit Courts of Maryland.
